Our Approach
Conservation is at the heart of everything we do. Every project begins with establishing the building’s history, the significance of its surviving fabric and its conservation and repair requirements. By combining practical heritage carpentry experience with formal conservation training, we design solutions to retain original materials wherever possible, whilst ensuring long-term performance.
Our heritage carpenters use traditional materials, proven repair techniques and a repair-rather-than-replace philosophy to preserve the character and authenticity of historic buildings across Surrey, West Sussex and Hampshire.
iwoodcreate was founded on a passion for traditional craftsmanship, historic buildings and the conservation of our built heritage.
Specialising in heritage carpentry, timber repairs, historic window restoration, linseed oil paint, traditional joinery and conservation advice and solutions, our aim is to help owners and custodians preserve historic buildings through practical craftsmanship informed by conservation principles.
Whether working on a listed cottage, country estate, church, historic window or traditional timber structure, we conserve all original aspects where possible while ensuring building longevity and the functionality of its features.
